Located on the busy University Avenue where lies a myriad of Asian ethnic restaurants that embellishes this part of Saint Paul, Cheng Heng is boasted as one of the best eateries you can find within that part of town. While not conspicuous at first gaze the restaurant is located inside what looks like a mini-mall just off to the right as you enter the building.
I’ve been going there for years since my arrival to Minnesota and have come to love their spin-off in the concoction of the ever-popular pho dish—my favorite. I know they call it Cambodian cuisine, but there are slight connections with influences in Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Laotian dishes all under one roof, so that’s a plus. There are way too many excellent dishes to name individually, so if you haven’t had the chance to dine-in or take-out at Cheng Heng, this is one place you’ll definitely want to consider.
The wait staff was prompt and courteous, but limited in their numbers to slow down their service during busy rush hours. The food, aforementioned, is awesome! My final tally on their service is 6 out of 10, and their food is a must 8 out of 10 to average both out to 7 of a possible 10 stars. Not bad, me likes!

Mmmm…Mmmm…good…sounds delicious!
I love their pork salad, number nine if you are wondering; thinking about it makes my mouth water. Yum… Although before I go I must say that Cheng Heng is so run down that I can never go back. Hey Cheng Heng if you read this, clean up you act! Another downfall about that place, look before you dig in!
How come u never take me with?? LoL
not bad, had it before, but nothing new
I never had a bad experience there. I think they treat a lot of their customers with dignity and respect.
They sure can use an upgrade though. This place has been here for years!
