Blue Heron Grill

It used be that TGIFriday’s was my Cheers, but that all changed about seven months ago when I finally took the long walk to the Blue Heron, which is conveniently across the street from my house. I hadn’t given the Heron a shot, but it was my birthday, the World Series game was on, and I needed a beer.

I envisioned a fancy place with a little bar area and maybe a TV or two, but boy was a I wrong. Yes, it is fancy, but the sports bar area can compete with any of the mainstream sports bars that are out there. If you are there to watch a game, there isn’t a bad seat in the house as there are flat screens strategically placed throughout the venue. This also works out great if there is more than just one “must see” game on.

Their happy hour runs from 3-6pm Monday through Fridays, this also includes some deals on the appetizers. I haven’t eaten a lot while there, but people rave about their food. I can stipulate to a fact that the onion rings, boneless wings, regular wings, & quesadillas are great. Friends of mine also say that the Calamari is really good if thats something you’re in to.

So, if you’re looking for a place to grab a good meal, a cold drink, and a good seat to watch the game, then I would definitely give the Blue Heron a shot. It might be out of the way for some of you, but it will be worth the trip.
